As much as I've criticized the guy for his performances this season you cant knock his character - highlighted in his comments below.
I hope he can continue where he left off from Chelsea and also find his goal scoring touch again.
“It’s been a tough couple of months for me, it’s been hard and I’m not going to deny it. The only thing I’ve ever known is playing football regularly. When I get my chance I’m going to try and take it, that’s the only thing I can do. I’ve done a lot in my career, I don’t need to prove myself to anyone.
“I’m not thinking about anything else other than West Ham, I’ve had a fantastic time here so far, I love the place, I love the club. I’ve got a great affiliation with everyone involved with the club, I want it to continue and hopefully the opportunities will come"

What is he saying has been tough - him not being in the starting 11 every week, or him playing shit for most matches he's played in?

Nolan has been the best captain we have had at the club for fucking years.
Yes he will start playing less of a part on the pitch of late but from what I hear he is still great with the squad off the pitch.
That's part of what a great captain does he brings the team together and keeps them together through good times and bad.
He has done that for us throughout his career WITH US and whilst I can see he is beginning to struggle playing 90mins week in week out he still has something to offer the club.
Thanks Nolan SON

Overall he has been a great signing. He united a divided squad when he came in. He is apparently great in helping new signings settle.
I think he is a brilliant leader to have in the dressing room and he was crucial in our promotion campaign. He is a great captain on the pitch and always in the Refs ear which I like to see.
Even though he isn't the player he once was, he always gives his all and I'm glad we have him.
Admittedly he shouldn't be a first team starter but he is still a great asset to have in the camp.
He should ignore the haters and keep doing what he is doing. Hopefully we can see more of the same type of performances that we saw against Chelsea.
Well done Kev!!

Eddie B - good question as the sentence about not playing regularly is certainly about not starting every week but.... I don't think he'd say "i'm not going to deny it" and refer to being on the bench.

Glen, add him to the coaching staff then.
Glad he loves the club, I love his contribution.

Hold on...somebody was claiming only last week it that Noble is the person who integrates new signings...

Struggling with pace of premiership this season and last even, but can't fault him for effort, compared to some of the dog shit cunts West Ham have paraded in midfield over the last 45 years of me going,he has been a good signing.
A bit part next season, probably his last in premiership

Nolan has been transitioning to a deeper role. Last I checked he has only played his trademark advanced role 4 times this season. It's a necessary change, and one that should extent his career, maybe even beyond next season.

I'd love Millwall if they stuck me on a 4 year 40K a week deal.
Ok, i'd PRETEND to

Unlike some players. who as the get older, can still be an influence on the team from a deeper role I cannot see Nolan being able to do that as he has limited ability with the ball at his feet. He was never the most mobile player and I would also worry that by having in a deeper role he would be in danger of being overrun.

I do like Nolan, he's certainly a great captain for the club as a whole, even if his legs are leaving him now. Playing in this deeper role seems to be helping, and frankly he was excellent against Chelsea. If only Song was willing to put in that sort of effort more frequently. Or even pass to the right team.

All very well being a good leader and all that but people are forgetting this is a multi million pound business and he is on 55k a week. To put in a performance every once in a while is not enough!

Fuck me, one decent game and it's back to a wankfest over him. If can can carry on Wednesday's performance for the rest of the season then fair enough, I won't bet on it though.

maybe if he looked after himself rather than being constantly out on the piss he might start scoring again?

What do you mean 'back' to a wank-fest? I don't ever recall any wank-fest over him.

Slow, ponderous, ineffectual, not worth his place in squad let alone team..... But he loves the club, so everyone now loves him, fickle fuckers
